The traditional way of using an acupressure mat is lying down on your back to relieve minor muscle aches and to stimulate relaxation. However, the PRANAFLOWER Bliss acupressure set can be used to treat almost any part of the body - back, neck, shoulders, abdomen, hips, feet, hands, etc.

Upon starting to use our acupressure set, your body will likely feel a temporary tingly sensation that will pass away in about 5 minutes before your body begins to enter a state of deep relaxation,  which can sometimes make you feel sleepy.

For beginners, it is recommended that you wear a thin shirt or cover the acupressure mat with a thin cloth before lying on it until your bare skin is desensitized enough to take the spiky feeling. Also, placing the acupressure mat on soft surfaces, like a bed or couch, makes the spiky feeling less intense than on hard surfaces, like the floor or chair. Lie on the mat and/or pillow for 5-10 minutes every other day and gradually increase use of the mat as the discomfort decreases. Skin redness might appear after lying bare-skinned on the acupressure mat, but fortunately, it disappears within minutes.

Those suffering from fibromyalgia should initially lie on the acupressure set for a short period of time (about 5-10 minutes) and wear fairly thick clothes. Gradually increase the time spent on the set and preferably use thinner clothes as the body becomes accustomed to the discomfort with time.

For maximum results, acupressure experts recommend that the acupressure set be used for at least 20-30 minutes at a time and several times a week.

Be cautious when applying the acupressure mat and/or pillow against your skin and avoid any sudden movements while on the mat to avoid any skin injuries. Don’t use the mat if you have active skin problems such as a rash, a wound, or sunburn.

To use the acupressure set for the back it is advised that you lie down on the mat with bare skin, although you can wear a thin shirt if you have sensitive skin.

Lay your mat on a bed or a couch or on the floor. Slowly and carefully lie down on your back, supporting yourself with your arms by the sides of the mat. Try to position your entire back onto the mat. 

You may keep your legs bent at the knees or straighten them. If additional pressure is needed for the lower back, try drawing your knees up in a bend. You may also place the PRANAFLOWER pillow under your head or lower back. 

We recommend that you do this for 20-30 minutes every day or as often throughout the week as you feel the need.

At home acupressure

NECK & SHOULDERS

Many people tend to carry a lot of tension in the neck and shoulders area, which might lead to a headache. In order to relieve pain or stiffness in this area, try laying on the PRANAFLOWER Bliss in your bed or on the couch.

Position the pillow in the area that you want to target, whether that be at the nape of your neck or right under your shoulders. 

The recommended treatment duration is between 15 to 30 minutes.

STOMACH

To use the mat for stomach pain or slow digestion as well as chest pain or tightness, carefully position yourself face down onto the mat. Wearing a thin shirt and remaining in that position for no longer than ten minutes at a time, after which the treatment can be repeated if needed. 

LEGS & FEET

You can use the mat while sitting in front of the computer or relaxing on the couch. Carefully position the mat to target specific areas, such as the back of the thighs, in order to boost blood circulation and fight cellulite. For added stimulation, place the pillow under your bare feet.
